Here is a look at three players from the ACC Coastal who have the potential to become stars in 2016.

Every season there are a handful of players who go from relative unknowns to breakout stars seemingly overnight.

Here is a look at three players from the ACC Coastal who have the potential to make such a jump in 2016.

1. North Carolina QB Mitch Trubisky

Marquise Williams was one of the most dynamic players in the ACC in 2015, accounting for more than 4,000 yards and 38 touchdowns during his senior campaign. And while Williams was clearly one of the top offensive performers in the league, the fact that he was, at one point, close to being benched speaks volumes to the talents of Trubisky. Seeing action in nine of the Tar Heels 14 contests, Trubisky completed 40-of-47 passing attempts (85.1 percent) for 555 yards and six scores. Though he is not the running threat that Williams was, Trubisky has plenty of arm talent and has shown that he is comfortable with the spotlight. The offense may have to change slightly to cater to his skill set, but expect to see Trubisky to put up huge numbers in his first season as the full-time starter.

2. Georgia Tech A-back J.J. Green

The Yellow Jackets struggled to find consistent playmaking ability at the A-back position this fall, which is why many people around the Georgia Tech program are anxiously awaiting Greens presence on the gridiron in 2016. Forced to sit out this past season due to NCAA transfer policies, Green appears to be the perfect fit for Paul Johnsons spread option attack. Standing just 5-9, Green is a shifty and speedy back who is incredibly difficult to bring down in the open field. His big play ability will make him a valuable weapon to go alongside Justin Thomas in the Georgia Tech offense. Though he will not get as many carries as many other backs, Green is sure to make the absolute most of his opportunities.

3. Duke WR T.J. Rahming

With the losses of Max McCaffrey and Johnell Barnes, Duke will be extremely inexperienced at the receiver position in 2016. And though he will just be a true sophomore, Rahming is the Blue Devils leading returning receiver for this fall, having caught 43 passes for 571 yards and a pair of touchdowns as a freshman. Though he is undersized at 5-10, 165 pounds, Rahming has a style of play that is very reminiscent to former Blue Devil standout Jamison Crowder. He is able to use his quickness and route-running ability to gain separation from defenders to make the catch and then create extra yardage in the open field. Look for Duke offensive coordinator Zac Roper to make getting Rahming the football a top priority in his first season calling plays in Durham.
