Boston College beats Georgia Tech 48-27.

1. Relatively quietly, Boston College is now at 4-2, with three ACC wins. First year head coach Jeff Hafley’s Eagles continue to opportunistic, productive and successful. Boston College, in addition to taking North Carolina to the brink a few weeks ago, now has a pair of convinving conference victories. Hafley’s work should stand out among new head coaches around the country. The Eagles will have a national spotlight on Halloween as Boston College will next play at top-ranked Clemson.

2. The Boston College ground game was the story on Saturday against Georgia Tech. With quarterback Phil Jurkovec, running backs David Bailey and Travis Levy and receiver Zay Flowers all making plays, the Eagles rushed for 264 yards and three touchdowns. Boston College’s offensive line helped set the tone for the physical performance. Flowers, who has four touchdown catches this season, ran for a 22-yard score.

3. Defensively, the Eagles forced three turnovers and were great on third downs. Mike Palmer recovered two fumbled and scored on a 33-yard return for a touchdown. Boston College limited a good Georgia Tech offense to just 2-of-12 on third downs, one of the most important stats of the afternoon.

4. It was a breakout game for receiver C.J. Lewis, who now gives the Eagles another option in the passing game after Zay Flowers and tight end Hunter Long. Lewis opened the scoring with two first quarter touchdown catches and helped give Boston College major momentum right away in the win over Georgia Tech.

5. A slow start from the Yellow Jackets proved far too much to overcome. The versatile Ahmarean Brown had an impressive showing for Georgia Tech. He caught four passes for 75 yards and a touchdown and ran for a two-yard score as well.
