Athletic Director Blake James says Kevin Olsen was suspended indefinitely from the team pending further review.

MIAMI (AP) x94 University of Miami backup quarterback Kevin Olsen has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence and possession of a fake or stolen driver’s license.

Miami-Dade County jail records show Olsen was booked at 4:11 a.m. Monday and was being held on $6,000 bail. Further details on Olsen’s arrest in South Miami were not immediately available. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.

Athletic Director Blake James says Olsen was suspended indefinitely from the team pending further review.

The 19-year-old redshirt freshman from Wayne, New Jersey, was suspended for two games earlier this season for violating team rules. Olsen is currently fourth on the Hurricanes’ depth chart at quarterback.

Olsen’s brother, Greg Olsen, is a former Miami standout who plays tight end for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.
