Version 5.0 of the Palmetto State Player Rankings eyes expansion from a Top 75 to a Top 80 with eight new names.

Not all is quiet on the recruiting front in the state of South Carolina; six of the Top Ten Players in Version 5.0 have made their college intentions public.

Defending National Champion Clemson has already nabbed three elite commitments in the Top Ten, while South Carolina has secured two players currently ranked in the Top Ten. As a matter of fact the Gamecocks have five commits in the Top 18 with several other uncommitted players still considering playing for Coach Will Muschamp.

Version 5.0 of the Palmetto State Player Rankings eyes expansion from a Top 75 to a Top 80 with eight new names. From 2008 to 2016 the state produced an average of 38.7 FBS signees. With 24 players already committed in the class of 2018 and almost 20 more prospects with multiple FBS offers, it is safe to say that the Palmetto State will go over their average.

The highest new entry at # 22 is athletic offensive lineman Raiqwon O’Neal of Conway (S.C.). The two-way standout helped guide the Tigers to the SCHSL-AAAAA State Quarterfinals last season. He currently has more than 20 offers, but may have narrowed his list down to Louisville, Maryland and South Carolina.

Coming in at #34 is dual-threat signal caller Tyshun Sarratt of Gaffney (S.C.). Last season he accounted for over 2,600 yards while throwing 22 touchdown passes. He has picked up FBS offers from Liberty, Miami of Ohio and Rutgers.

Pass rushing specialist Tre Moore of Johnston (S.C.) Strom Thurmond makes his entry at #46. As a junior he recorded 71 tackles, 10.5 TFL’s and 7.5 sacks of the Rebels. He recently gave a verbal commitment to Georgia State.

As predicted earlier this year, it is a great class of kickers in South Carolina. Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe kicker BT Potter has committed to Clemson, Hunter Pearson of Seneca (S.C.) has given Virginia a verbal commitment and punter Skyler DeLong of Fort Mill (S.C.) Nation Ford has committed to Alabama.

All new additions to the State Player Rankings are bolded. You can also follow the movement in the player rankings from the previous version. The two biggest movers and shakers are Gamecock commit Ronald Roderick of Summerville (S.C.) Cane Bay and Clemson commit Braden Galloway of Seneca (S.C.).
