Four-star linebacker prospect Roquan Smith has announced that he will play his college football at the University of Georgia.

Four-star linebacker prospect Roquan Smith, who has been the subject of much controversy following his verbal pledge to UCLA on national television on National SIgning Day and subsequent decision to not sign his letter of intent with the Bruins, has announced that he will play his college football at the University of Georgia.

Smith’s recruitment became an especially hot topic this past week when he announced that he would not be signing a letter of intent with any school, opting instead to sign grant-in-aid papers. The reasoning behind that decision dates back to Smith being felt like he was misled by UCLA coaches in the days leading up to National Signing Day. By not signing his letter of intent, Smith leaves room to switch schools if something unforeseen were once agaiin to occur.

According to Smith’s high school coach, Larry Harold, the six-foot-two, 205-pound linebacker is “100-percent Georgia Bulldog.”

The Bulldogs had already solidified a top ten class nationally prior to Smith’s decision, but his addition will boost Georgia even further up the 2015 class rankings.
