Five of the best prospects from the 912 area code that have yet to receive an offer.
John Cano, OL, Brunswick High
Cano is, incredibly, at once polished and animalistic. He somehow balances near perfectly sound technique with a generally mean disposition — at least on the field. If Cano can snap the ball and maintain his blocking ability he projects as a group of five caliber center.
Jacob McLeod, OL, South Effingham
Listed at 6’3, and around 315 pounds, McLeod projects excellently as a guard, already possessing ideal size for the position. He’s a big mauler, at his best run-blocking. Does a good job of taking care of his man and getting to the second level quickly.
J.P. Palmer, ATH, McIntosh County Academy
Palmer is the definition of a playmaker. Anytime he touches the ball, he’s a threat to go the distance. Projects as a slot receiver, with added value as an alternate ball carrier.
Craige Saxton, ATH, Tattnall County
Saxton plays quarterback for his high school, and actually won the position group at the Explosive Southern Pigskin Football Camp. Saxton is certainly capable of continuing to play behind center, in the right system, but may have even greater value as a receiver or defensive back. Ever the team player, he has stated a willingness to make a position switch.
Jordan Stafford, S, Jenkins High
Stafford is a ball-hawking free safety. He compiled six interceptions and 13 passes defensed last season. A rangy defender, Stafford is able to be the lone safety in single-high coverage, but has the versatility to cover receivers in man-to-man.
