Alabama beats Tennessee 48-17.

1. The Alabama offense just continues to roll. In a contest with 48 more points and 587 more total yards, the balance was outstanding once again. Quarterback Mac Jones completed 25-of-31 passes for 387 yards and had a score running the football, while Najee Harris added three more rushing touchdowns and John Metchie III caught seven passes for 151 yards. Alabama compiled 30 first downs and was 7-of-12 on third down tries. Jones set a program record with 17 consecutive completions and Alabama its streak of games with at least 35 points to 18, the longest current streak in college football. The Crimson Tide have now won 14 straight

2. What a terrible injury for Jaylen Waddle. The Alabama superstar suffered a broken ankle on the opening kickoff of the game and will sadly miss the remainder of the season. Waddle is one of college football’s best players and has done it all for the Crimson Tide. Here’s to a speedy recovery.

3. Najee Harris entered the weekend leading the nation in rushing touchdowns by three scores. He added three more on Saturday. He carried the football 20 times for 96 yards, reaching the endzone on a trio of short runs. Currently, Harris runs for a touchdown one out of every 7.3 times he runs the ball. The do-it-all back added six receptions for 61 yards.

4. John Metchie III is already one of college football’s top big play receivers. After seven catches for 151 yards against Tennessee, he now has 21 receptions for 499 yards on the season, good for an average of 23.8 yards per grab. Metchie will likely become even more of a featured part of the passing game with the unfortunate injury to Waddle.

5. Receivers Josh Palmer and Jalin Hyatt were able to make some plays downfield for the Volunteers, scoring on plays of 27 and 38 yards from quarterback Jarrett Guarantano. Though impressive conversions, the offensive effort was nowhere near enough against Alabama’s attack.
