Georgia runs past Missouri 49-14.

1. That was one of Georgia’s best performances in years. Entering the weekend, there were some outside discussions as to what the Bulldogs’ motivations might be. Georgia responded with a statement performance against a nationally-ranked opponent in Missouri, a credit to both Kirby Smart and the coaching staff and the leadership on the team. This win futher validates the Bulldogs as a top ten team for this fall and gives Georgia extra momentum heading into the off-season and next year. The Bulldogs absolutely looked the part on Saturday.

2. It was a complete, dominant and overwhelming performance from Georgia. The Bulldogs outgained Missouri 615 yards to 200, 28 first downs to 11 and had zero turnovers and one penalty for five yards. Georgia quarterback J.T. Daniels threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns, Zamir White and Dejaun Edwards both topped 100 yards rushing and four different backs reached the endzone and George Pickens recorded 126 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, the Bulldogs did not give up a single run of ten yards or more. It was near-perfect football.

3. The Georgia defense we saw on Saturday looked like the group capable of being the nation’s best. One week after Missouri scored 50 points against Arkansas, the Bulldogs remarkably held the Tigers to merely 5.6 yards per pass and one yard per rush. Georgia’s effort against Missouri star Larry Rountree III was quite impressive, holding him to just 16 yards on 14 carries.

4. Georgia has been running the football in vintage fashion as of late. After 46 carries for 332 yards and four touchdowns against South Carolina, the Bulldogs promptly ran 45 times for 316 yards and four more scores against Missouri. There have been three different 100-yard rushers, Zamir White, James Cook and Dejaun Edwards, in that span. Credit Georgia’s already-great offensive line for winning even more consistently at the line of scrimmage down the home stretch.

5. Missouri has had a very good season, with clear reason to be optimistic about the future with Eli Drinkwitz, but Georgia proved it was on a different level. The Tigers were outscored 14-0 in the first quarter and 28-0 in the second half.
