The best players from week one in the Southern Conference.

Offensive Player of the Week: Devlin Hodges, Samford -- Hodges threw for 241 yards and four scores in a 28-23 win over Kennesaw State.

Defensive Player of the Week: Malik Rivera, Wofford -- Rivera tallied a team high ten tackles and had a game saving interception on Furman’s 2-point conversion attempt in the 24-23 win.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Luke Carter, Wofford -- Carter hit a 44-yard field goal, was 3/3 on PATs and averaged 42.3 yards per punt on four punts.

Coach of the Week: Chris Hatcher, Samford -- Hatcher led the Bulldogs to a hard fought victory over a Kennesaw State team that received votes in the preseason national poll.

X-Factor of the Week: Kaelan Riley, Mercer -- Riley compiled 260 yards of offense and five total touchdowns en route to a 48-7 win versus Jacksonville.
