Highlighting the Southern Conference's top performers during week eight.

Offensive Player of the Week: Tyray Devezin, Mercer -- Carried the ball 25 times for 193 yards and a score to help the Bears beat VMI 34-27.

Defensive Player of the Week: Marquise Blount, The Citadel -- Racked up 1.5 TFL's, a sack, and a forced fumble in the Bulldogs' upset of Furman.

Special Teams Player of the Week: D'Mauriae VanCleave, Wofford -- In addition to his 112 receiving yards with a touchdown on four receptions, VanCleave also returned a punt 87 yards to paydirt in the Terriers' 59-7 blowout win over Western Carolina.

Coach of the Week: Brent Thompson, The Citadel -- Led his team to a stunning 27-10 upset of #8 Furman, catapulting The Citadel back into the SoCon title race, with some help from a few other results around the league.

X-Factor of the Week: Ailym Ford, Chattanooga -- Rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns on 31 attempts, leading the Mocs past ETSU, 16-13.
