The Southern Conference’s top performers during week nine.

nOffensive Player of the Week: Ailym Ford, Chattanooga — Rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries before the Mocs fell to Wofford in overtime.

nDefensive Player of the Week: Willie Eubanks III, The Citadel — Racked up 12 tackles, .5 TFL’s, and three QBH’s to lead The Citadel past Mercer.

nSpecial Teams Player of the Week: Luke Carter, Wofford — Made all five PAT’s and dropped five of his six punts inside the 20-yard line to help Wofford beat Chattanooga 35-34 in overtime.

nCoach of the Week: Brent Thompson, The Citadel — Oversaw a 35-24 win for his Bulldogs against Mercer, in which they converted 14/17 third downs.

nX-Factor of the Week: Joe Newman, Wofford — Threw for 134 yards and added another 66 and three touchdowns on the ground, including what would prove to be the game winner against Chattanooga.
