Looking at some of the best players from the SoCon in week nine.

Offensive Player of the Week: Western Carolina quarterback Tyrie Adams led the Catamounts with 229 yards passing with four touchdowns and 168 yards on the ground with another score in the Catamounts triple overtime loss to East Tennessee State 45-43.

Defensive Player of the Week: Isiah Mack led the Chattanooga defense in the Mocs 34-27 win over VMI.  Mack notched 9 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. 

Special Teams Player of the Week: Furman’s Grayson Atkins garners is second straight award this week based on his punting.  Atkins punted seven times for an average of 50.9 yards per punt.  Atkins was also 4 for 4 on extra points in Furman’s 28-17 victory over The Citadel.

Coach of the Week: East Tennessee State’s Randy Sanders led his Bucs to a big 45-43 triple overtime win over Western Carolina.  With the win the Bucs remain in a tie atop the SOCON standings with just one loss in league play. 

X-Factor of the Week: Furman freshman quarterback Jemar Lincoln, making his first career start, led the Paladins to a 28-17 road win over The Citadel.  Lincoln was 9 of 12 for 140 yards and scored three touchdowns on the ground to lead Furman in scoring.
