Offensive Player of the Week: Furman quarterback Harris Roberts led the Paladins to a share of the SOCON Title in a 35-30 win over Mercer.  Roberts was 16 of 23 for 189 yards and 5 touchdowns.  Roberts threw touchdown passes for 19, 10, 19, 24 and 11 yards.

Defensive Player of the Week: Mercer’s Sidney Otiwu notched 7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack and returned a fumble for a touchdown 12 yards in the Bears 35-30 loss to Furman. 

Special Teams Player of the Week: Wofford’s Luke Carter was 6 for 6 on extra points, kicked a field goal of 23 yards and punted once for 54 yards in the Terriers 45-21 win over Presbyterian College. 

Coach of the Week: Furman Head Coach Clay Hendrix led his Paladins to a share of the 2018 SOCON Title by defeating Mercer 35-30 in Macon. The Paladins have won 6 out of their 7 games since beginning the season 0-3. The title is the 14th for Furman which is the most in SOCON history.

X-Factor of the Week: Samford quarterback Devlin Hodges became the NCAA FCS all-time leading passer throwing for 404 on 40 completions in the Bulldogs 38-27 win over East Tennessee State. Hodges passed Alcorn State’s Steve McNair for the career passing mark finishing his career with 14, 584 yards.
