In addition to making plays at a historic pace, Tyler Badie’s production has been the key to Missouri’s overall success.
Missouri running back Tyler Badie is having a season for the record books. He, already, has 1,239 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, 50 receptions and four more receiving scores. Badie is the only SEC and Power Five player this millennium with those statistical minimums; he still has at least two more games to go.
Nearly half of his games have resulted in 200-yard rushing performances. There have been six such showings in the SEC this fall; Badie has four of them. Of the Tigers’ ten matchups, Badie went for 203 yards in a win over Central Michigan, 209 in a victory against North Texas, 254 yards in a win at Vanderbilt and 209 yards in a triumph over South Carolina. Furthermore, he opened the season with receiving touchdowns in three consecutive contests and has multiple catches in every outing this season. Badie even had ten grabs at Kentucky.
In mid-November, Badie ranks fourth in college football with 123.9 rushing yards per game, third with 157.6 yards from scrimmage per game, tied for first with ten runs of at least 30 yards and first with seven runs of at least 40 yards. Badie is having a season for the ages. With upcoming meetings with Florida, on his Senior Day, and nationally-ranked Arkansas, expect the New Orleans-native to have even more big plays and signature moments.
In addition to making plays at a historic pace, Badie’s production has been the key to Missouri’s overall success. In outings where he has more than 22 rushing attempts, the Tigers are 3-0. In games where Badie rushes for more than 72 yards, Missouri is 5-0.
Badie has also been a consistent academic award winner at Missouri, earning SEC Academic Honor Roll recognition in 2019 and 2020 and being named 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District.
Recently, number one was named a permanent team captain for the Tigers.
Simpy put, Badie, having a true showcase season, has been a superstar.
