Smith, LeCounte and Dallas will all likely contribute as freshmen.
Over the past few months, Georgia, Miami and South Carolina have gotten much better. Without a doubt, they all got faster.
Shawn Smith (WR 6’0 165 4.4) out of Brunswick High School is a Tavon Austin clone. Super fast twitch. He will bring instant offense to Will Muschamp’s Gamecocks.
If Smith lived in Atlanta and had more exposure, he’d be a 5 star. Tucked away in heavily saturated, prep football talented south Georgia, Smith with major offers including Auburn and Georgia, still is completely underrated nationally by the scouts, but not by the coaches.
Richard LeCounte (6’1 175 4.4) at Liberty County High School is arguably the best high school football player in America. Rated a 5 Star by everyone, Kirby Smart is smiling from ear to ear.
LeCounte has the hips and is fast twitch like a cornerback, and he already has an NFL safety’s body. Also he’s athletic enough to get into the rotation on the Georgia basketball team. He is a great student, and an unbelievable kid in the community as well. LeCounte is a huge prize for Georgia. He’s the whole package.
DeeJay Dallas (6’0 185 4.4) from Glynn Academy announced at the ESPN Coastal Georgia radio studio live over the Southern Pigskin Radio Network. The interest in Dallas’ announcement was national as proven by over 6,000 fans that tuned into the stream on ESPNCoastal.com. Locally, several family members, friends and fans showed up at the studios, to watch in person.
Dallas could see action on both sides of the ball at Miami. Without question he’ll be on the return teams. Super explosive and coaches rave about his vision at full speed. DeeJay is a very mature player with the ball in his hands. But he’s also a very physical young player with long arms and over 6’0 tall. Men make millions of dollars on Sundays playing cornerback with the same stats and skill set.
Smith, LeCounte and Dallas will all likely contribute as freshmen.
Many people don’t appreciate how good you have to be as a player to get offered into the ACC and SEC. To be considered for immediate playing time tells the story on these three. But it’s going to continue to be just as good for the next several years. There are big time announcements coming from Savannah Christian’s Zach Quinney (6’5 270 5.2) with a bunch of major ACC and SEC offers and 5 Star D’Antne Demery (6’6 300 5.3) who has offers from everyone. He’s considered one of the top offensive line prospects in the country, now.
South Georgia has been, and will continue to be, one of the most talent rich recruiting hotspots in the country.
