Feature Country Influence

The pallet for the famous Emmy awards often excludes country music.

Not this year.

On Thursday morning it was announced that Connie Britton has been nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Rayna James in the newly popular show, Nashville. Similarly, The Voice, most notably featuring Blake Shelton, was given the nod for Reality Competition Program.

Its main competition is Dancing With The Stars, which you may remember was won by Kellie Pickler and judged by Wynonna, both of the country persuasion.

Outside of the acting world, Nashville’s original song (written by Kate York and Sarah Buxton), “I’ll Never Get Out of this World Alive” has been nominated for Outstanding Music and Lyrics
