nWestern Carolinaxe2x80x99s Troy Mitchell accounted for 360 total yards of offense in the Catamounts 48-10 dismantling of Furman.xc2xa0 Mitchell passed for 305 yards and three touchdowns completing 27 of his 35 passes.xc2xa0 The Catamount signal caller also rushed for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
nDefensive Player of the Week
nMercerxe2x80x99s Zach Jackson garnered nine tackles with one for loss, a fumble recovery and an interception in the Bears 17-14 upset of #3 ranked Chattanooga giving Mercer their first SoCon win of the season.

nSpecial Teams Player of the Week
nThe Citadel Eric Goins kicked five field goals for the SoCon leading Bulldogs in their 35-14 victory over VMI to retain the Silver Shako for the 9th year meeting in a row.xc2xa0 Goins made kicks from 33, 26, 20, 23, and 34 yards making him 10 out of 12 on field goals this season.

nMercer quarterback John Russ led the Bears to an upset win over 3rd ranked Chattanooga for the Bears first SoCon win of the season.xc2xa0xc2xa0 Russ had 218 yards of total offense, running for 56 and throwing for 162.xc2xa0 He completed 9 of 19 passes, scoring two touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground.xc2xa0xc2xa0
nCoach of the Week
nMercerxe2x80x99s Bobby Lamb picked up his second SoCon win at Mercer in thrilling fashion upsetting the #3 ranked Chattanooga Mocs at Five Star Stadium in Macon.xc2xa0 Mercer heads out on the road next week to Greenville to face Lambxe2x80x99s alma mater Furman.
