Robbies Ross previews all the week five Southern Conference action.

nTwo SOCON teams gained over 400 yards on the ground last week.xc2xa0 Wofford rushed for 489 yards in their 49-10 win over Gardner-Webb. Furman rushed for 410 yards in the Paladins 45-10 win over Mercer. Wofford leads the SOCON in rushing at 312.7 yards per game, Furman is second in the league with 298.2 rushing yards per game.xc2xa0

nFurman and The Citadel remained the only two teams ranked this week in the Stats.com FCS Top 25 Poll. The Paladins jumped one spot to #16 and The Citadel came in at #25 for the second straight week. Wofford received votes this week after falling out of the Top 25 last week for the first time since the week of November 14th, 2006.

nSOCON teams have dominated games with their closest geographical conference rival so far in 2019. The conference improved to 4-0 over teams from The Big South Conference with last weeks 22-13 win by The Citadel over Charleston Southern and Woffordxe2x80x99s 49-10 win over Gardner-Webb. The SOCON can move to 5-0 over The Big South this week with a Mercer win over Campbell Saturday night in Macon.xc2xa0

nWith Samfordxe2x80x99s 55-21 win over Alabama A&M last week, Bulldogs coach Chris Hatcher reached a milestone. The win was Hatcherxe2x80x99s 150th career victory over the span of 20 seasons at Valdosta State, Georgia Southern, Murray State and now Samford.xc2xa0
