The top players from week one in the Southern Conference.

nOffensive Player of the Week: Devlin Hodges, Samford — Completed 25 of his 36 pass attempts for 330 yards and five touchdowns in a 66-9 win over Shorter.

nDefensive Player of the Week: Noah Dawkins, The Citadel — Grabbed two interceptions for a combined 47 return yards and recorded a tackle for loss, despite falling to Wofford 28-21.

nSpecial Teams Player of the Week: Matt Campbell, The Citadel — Punted eight times for an average 44.6 yards per attempt, two of which were downed inside the 20-yard line.

nCoach of the Week: Josh Conklin, Wofford — Led the Terriers to a 28-21 victory in his first game as Wofford’s head coach against a conference rival.

nX-Factor of the Week: Lennox McAfee, Wofford — Rushed for 85 yards and two scores on just eight carries and added another 77xc2xa0yards in the return game.
