The week one players of the week from the Sun Belt Conference.

Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week: Nick Arbuckle, Georgia State — Threw for 413 yards and four touchdowns as the Panthers snapped a 16-game losing streak in a 38-37 win over Abilene-Christian.

Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week: Mitch Lane, Louisiana-Monroe — Led the Warhawks with six total tackles and had a game-tying 31-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 17-10 win over Wake Forest.

Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week: Wil Lutz, Georgia State — Kicked a game-winning 26-yard field goal with four seconds left to play in a 38-37 victory over Abilene Christian.

Sun Belt Coach of the Week: Willie Fritz, Georgia Southern — In Fritz’s debut and the program’s FBS debut, the Eagles very nearly upset North Carolina State, compiling 438 yards of total offense and leading throughout until under two minutes remaining in a 24-23 loss.

Sun Belt X-Factor of the Week: Pete Thomas, Louisiana-Monroe — Went 5-for-5 passing on the Warhawks’ game-winning drive, scoring the go-ahead touchdown on a nine-yard run in a 17-10 victory over Wake Forest.
