Southern Pigskin’s week one award winners for the Sun Belt Conference.

Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week: Corey Rucker, Arkansas State — Caught nine passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns in the Red Wolves’ 40-21 win over Central Arkansas.

Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week: Zion Williams, Troy — Intercepted two passes and returned one 19 yards for a touchdown in the Trojans’ 55-3 win over Southern.

Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week: Britton Williams, Georgia Southern — Converted 3-of-3 field goal attempts, with a long of 49 yards, in the Eagles’ 30-25 win over Gardner-Webb.

Sun Belt Coach of the Week: Kane Wommack, South Alabama — The Jaguars responded to an opening touchdown with 31 unanswered points in Wommack’s head coaching debut in their 31-7 win over Southern Miss.

Sun Belt X-Factor of the Week: Layne Hatcher, Arkansas State — Came in and completed a perfect 12-of-12 passes for 150 yards and four touchdowns in the Red Wolves’ 40-21 win over Central Arkansas.
