A look back at Trevor Lawrence’s five best games at Clemson.

With quarterback Trevor Lawrence, as long speculated, officially the number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, let’s take a look back at his five best college games at Clemson;

1. College Football Playoff Final vs Alabama, 2019
The last game of Lawrence’s true freshman season was a truly grand finale with 347 passing yards and three touchdowns as Clemson capped off a perfect 15-0 season with a 44-16 rout of unbeaten, top-ranked Alabama in the national championship game. Lawrence was promptly named game MVP. A 74-yard score to Justyn Ross midway through the third quarter was arguably the highlight of the night. On the biggest stage in the game against the biggest name in the game, It was an exclamation point on a storybook year for Lawrence.

2. Cotton Bowl vs Notre Dame, 2018
Lawrence’s primetime introduction to the College Football Playoff was a remarkable one as he completed 27-of-39 passes for 327 yards and three touchdowns in Clemson’s resounding 30-3 victory over unbeaten Notre Dame in the semfinals. Earning game MVP honors, three second quarter scores from Lawrence, two to Justyn Ross and one to Tee Higgins, proved to be the difference in the game.

3. at Georgia Tech, 2020
New career high in passing yards, with 404, and passing touchdowns, with five, helped Lawrence lead Clemson to a stunning 73 total points. He had, among other highlights, an 83-yard touchdown pass to Amari Rodgers. Lawrence compiled those game totals despite playing just one series in the second half. Beyond the impressive macro production, Lawrence completed 75% of his passes.

4. ACC Championship Game vs Virginia, 2019
Notably, the stat line was near perfect for a player who only won conference titles at Clemson: 16-of-22 passing for 302 yards and four touchdowns, meaning a 72.7% completion percentage and 13.7 yards per attempt. The Tigers scored 62 points in advancing to another College Football Playoff along the way. Three of Lawrence’s scores went to Tee Higgins. Lawrence did not play at all in the fourth quarter.

5. Sugar Bowl vs Ohio State, 2019
Though it wasn’t his most consistent performance, Lawrence led Clemson back from a 16-0 second quarter deficit. His 34-yard touchdown pass to Travis Etienne with 1:49 remaining, and corresponding two-point conversion to Tee Higgins, proved to be the game-winner. Lawrence threw for 259 yards and two scores and also ran for 107 yards and a touchdown, a key 67-yarder included.
