Southern Pigskin’s week one award winners for the ACC.

ACC Offensive Player of the Week: Mataeo Durant, Duke — Rushed 29 times for 255 yards and three touchdowns, adding two catches for 37 yards, in the Blue Devils’ 31-28 loss to Charlotte.

ACC Defensive Player of the Week: Chamarri Conner, Virginia Tech — Recorded eight total tackles and a late game-winning interception in the Hokies’ 17-10 win over Virginia Tech.

ACC Special Teams Player of the Week: Ja’Sir Taylor, Wake Forest — Returned a first quarter kickoff back 99 yards for a touchdown in the Demon Deacons 42-10 win over Old Dominion.

ACC Coach of the Week: Justin Fuente, Virginia Tech — The Hokies held North Carolina to just 354 total yards and recorded three interceptions of Sam Howell in their 17-10 win over the Tar Heels.

ACC X-Factor of the Week: McKenzie Milton, Florida State — Played in his first college game since his terrible leg injury in 2018, completing 5-of-7 passes for 48 yards in the Seminoles’ 41-38 overtime loss to Notre Dame.
