Thanks to our friend Steve Pugh, and his game simulator at compughterratings.com, we have ostensibly laid out what a 128 team bracket would have looked like this season.

The other day, around the office, we were kicking around some thoughts about the college football playoff — who should be in, expansion, etc. I, mostly jokingly, suggested a 128 team bracket. As is currently constituted, even at the beginning of the season, only a handful of teams even have a reasonable chance of winning a national championship. A few days ago, my man Robbie Ross came in to work, having taken it upon himself to seed the 128 teams with help from mikedisimone.com. From there, it took off.

Thanks to our friend Steve Pugh, and his game simulator at compughterratings.com, we have ostensibly laid out what a 128 team bracket would have looked like this season. Below you will find a completed first round, including scores, via the aforementioned game simulator.

We will be releasing the next round and subsequent rounds of results every other day until a champion is crowned.

Our simulation operates under the assumption that the higher seed would have home field advantage through the first three rounds. From then on out, neutral Bowl Game sites would hold each contest.

*the winner of Quadrant 1 would play the winner of Quadrant 4 in the semifinals, and the winner of Quadrant 2 would play the winner of Quadrant 3
