Southern Pigskin’s week one award winners from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
ACC Offensive Player of the Week: Trevor Lawrence, Clemson — Completed 22-of-28 passes for 351 yards and a score, adding two tushing touchdowns, in the Tigers’ 37-13 win at Wake Forest.
ACC Defensive Player of the Week: Curtis Ryans, Georgia Tech — Recorded four total tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles, both coming on late drives that helped decide the outcome of the game, in the Yellow Jackets’ 16-13 win over Florida State.
ACC Special Teams Player of the Week: Marvin Wilson, Florida State — Blocked two field goal attempts and helped block another PAT in the Seminoles’ 16-13 loss to Georgia Tech.
ACC Coach of the Week: Geoff Collins, Georgia Tech — The Yellow Jackets outgained Florida State by more than 150 total yards as the program won for the second-time ever in Tallahassee, beating the Seminoles by a score of 16-13.
ACC X-Factor of the Week: Jeff Sims, Georgia Tech — Making his first career start, the true freshman compiled 341 yards of total offense, 277 yards passing, including throwing a game-tying touchdown pass in Georgia Tech’s 16-13 win over Florida State.
‘
