Louisville hopes to keep its Atlantic Division title hopes alive with a victory at Clemson.
Duke (4-1, 0-1) at No. 22 Georgia Tech (5-0, 2-0) x94 12:30 p.m. ET
The Yellow Jackets returned to the top 25 in style after nearly a three-year absence. Led by quarterback Justin Thomas, Georgia Tech sits at 5-0 for only the fifth time since 1957, thanks to a commanding performance against the Hurricanes last week. The Yellow Jackets currently rank 11th in the nation in rushing with 297.2 yards per game. They host Duke, which lost its conference opener to Miami (22-10) two weeks ago. Despite the loss, the Blue Devils are not in unfamiliar territory. Last year, Duke dropped its first two conference games, which included a loss to Georgia Tech, before winning six straight league matchups to clinch the Coastal Division title. Duke and Georgia Tech both have high-scoring offenses that average more than 30 points per contest, but the Blue Devil defense has given up just 68 points this season. But will that be enough to slow down the Jackets? Georgia Tech has won 10 straight in this series and 18 of the last 19 encounters. The Yellow Jackets have found a way to be extremely good when they need to be.
Georgia Tech 31, Duke 20
Louisville (5-1, 3-1) at No. 25 Clemson (3-2, 2-1) x94 3:30 p.m. ET
The Cardinals have won three games in a row and true freshman quarterback Reggie Bonnafon is 2-0 as a starter in place of the injured Will Gardner. Louisville travels to Death Valley for its first meeting against Clemson. One upside for the Cardinals is a defense that has allowed an average of 13 points this season under coach Bobby Petrino. Louisville safety Gerod Holliman has seven interceptions on the year. But the Cards will have their hands full facing a hostile environment and the play of freshman sensation Deshaun Watson. Making his only third start, Watson and the Tigers have lit up the scoreboard the past two games (45.5 points). Watson has passed for 1,181 yards with 12 touchdowns to just one interception this season, and he ranks third in the ACC in total offense with an average of 263.6 yards. Clemson’s top-rated scoring offense in the ACC goes face-to-face with Louisville’s top-rated scoring defense. The Tigers have been the most impressive team in the conference since losing to Florida State, which doesn’t bode well for the Cardinals.
Clemson 35, Louisville 17
