The Chicago Bulls may have made a questionable trade at the deadline, but many of the team’s young players have shown promise.

What a busy week in sports, from the NBA trade deadline to the first Nascar race of the season.

The Chicago Bulls, on Thursday, traded guard Kirk Hinrich to the Atlanta Hawks in return for a second round pick and Justin Holiday. I think this was a terrible trade for the Bulls because Hinrich was a lot better than some of the other players on the bench. Captain Kirk was a good three-point shooter and was great at taking a charge. Hinrich is the Bulls’ all-time leader in three-point field goals. Kirk, you will be missed and it will be odd not hearing x9cBeam me up, Scottyx9d.

On Sunday night the Bulls beat the Lakers 126 to 115. This was Kobe Bryants last game at Chicagos United Center and his last meeting with Pau Gasol, his old teammate. Derrick Rose has strung together a nice stretch the past three games, finishing with over 20 points in each game. It looks like his speed is finally coming back. ETwaun Moore actually looked pretty good out there and scored 24 points for the Bulls. Whatever the coach said to Doug McDermott before the Raptors game Friday definitely ignited a blaze. Against the Raptors he had a career-high 30 points off the bench, and this Lakers game he had 16 points. Hopefully he can keep this hot streak going.

The Bulls offense has been good this year, but where did the defense go? Only thing different is the new coach, Fred Hoiberg. Too bad they cant have Tom Thibodeaus defense and Hoibergs offense.
When Jimmy Butler gets back from his injury, he will be able to really help with the defense. I hope he gets back soon because, in my opinion, he is the best player in the NBA.

Did you see how close that finish of the Nascar Sprint Cup race was? Denny Hamlin beat Martin Truex Jr. in a photo finish by only one one-hundredth of a second. It was the closest win in Daytona 500 history since 1993 and Hamlins first 500 win. It was very odd seeing the #24 car out on the track and hearing Jeff Gordon announcing the race since he retired. I am going to still stick with the #24 car, but now Chase Elliott is the driver. Elliott started on the pole, but that didnt last long. He spun out and hit the grass, about ripping the whole nose off the car. I thought he was going to be in contention to win the race because he won the Xfinity race the day before.
