The top-ranked quarterbacks really impressed at the recent NFL Scouting Combine.

The NFL Scouting Combine was held this week in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium. I thought all of the players did well, and the best part to me were the QB drills. The top QBs in attendance, Californias Jared Goff and North Dakota States Carson Wentz, looked to have great footwork dropping back. They also threw very well and you will be seeing them in the NFL very soon.

On Sunday, you could tell the NFL Network was broadcasting live and had no delay like the Super Bowl has. Chris Jones came up to run the 40-yard dash to expose his running ability. He had an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction, though, and fell down right after the 40 to avoid further embarrassment. The spandex shorts must have been cheaply made, but, besides that, the 300 pounder had a pretty good run of 5.3 seconds.

Some of the drills and things they do in the Scouting Combine really dont have anything to do with playing football and evaluating a player for the draft. The vertical jump is good for the defense and receivers, but how many times does a quarterback need to jump straight up? I know the bench press shows endurance and strength, but do you ever lift someone up while you are on your back? Also, the broad jump is very strange. In a football game do you ever stop and jump forward as far as you can? Maybe at the goal line trying to jump over the line to score, but other than that, not really.

The Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder game ended in an insane overtime victory for Golden State. In the third quarter, Stephen Curry went out of the game with a left ankle injury. Curry came back in about six minutes later, though, and thats when the turbo-charger kicked in. He ended with 12 three pointers, tying the record for most threes in a single game. Curry also broke his own NBA record for three pointers in a season. He now has 288 already, and the season isnt even close to over yet. I am just going to call it: 400 threes this season for Curry.

In the fourth quarter of Saturdays game, the Thunder were up 12 points, but the Warriors did not crumble. Thompson made a three, cutting it down to 100-99. With 14.5 seconds left, Durant made a three, putting OKC up by four. Thompson quickly made a layup, and then OKC turned over the ball. The Thunder regretfully fouled Andre Iguodala with seven-tenths of a second remaining and he sank both free throws, which tied the game forcing overtime. With six tenths of a second left in overtime, Curry made a ridiculous 32-foot three pointer and won the game for the Warriors 121-118.
