After recording 26 tackles in in eight contests last fall, Matthew Thomas was expected to be one of Florida State’s starting linebackers this season.

According to a report from Warchant.com, Florida State sophomore linebacker Matthew Thomas has been declared ineligible for the 2015 season.

The loss of Thomas, who also missed the first six games of the 2014 season due to a violation of NCAA rules, is particularly devastating for an already thin Seminoles’ linebacking corps.

After recording 26 tackles in in eight contests last fall, Thomas was expected to be one of Florida State’s starting linebackers this season.
