2015 safety prospect Carlos Pickett recently made his verbal commitment.
After seeing his recruitment interest increase rapidly over the past few months, 2015 safety prospect Carlos Pickett our of Brunswick High School in Georgia recently decided to pull the trigger and give his verbal commitment to the Marshall Thundering Herd.
Pickett holds offers from Kent State, Mercer, South Alabama and Troy, and he had also been receiving significant attention from Georgia Tech and North Carolina in recent weeks.
At the end of the day, however, the opportunity to play at Marshall proved to be too much to pass up.
“I went up to Marshall for a visit, and I really didn’t know about all of their tradition,” Pickett told Southern Pigskin. “I went home and watched ‘We Are Marshall’, and it just felt right. I figured that I could go there and get a good education and get a chance to go to the NFL.”
Pickett, who says he is “100 percent committed to Marshall”, is still recovering from a torn hamstring which he suffered a couple of weeks ago. Although the injury has hindered his ability to participate in offseason workouts, he is expected to be back at full health in plenty of time for the start of the regular season.
Pickett is the first prospect from Brunswick High to commit in the 2015 class.
