Recently picking up his first FBS scholarship offer from Army, Garrison Hurd has used the first two games of his final high school campaign to showcase why other schools should be jumping into the mix very soon.
After accounting for nearly 900 all-purpose yards as a junior in helping lead Glynn Academy to the quarterfinals of the Georgia High School Football playoffs, Garrison Hurd has continued to generate momentum for himself on the recruiting trail.
Recently picking up his first FBS scholarship offer from Army, Hurd has used the first two games of his final high school campaign to showcase why other schools should be jumping into the mix very soon.
In his most recent contest against Brunswick High – a rivalry game commonly known as the “City Championship” – Hurd was a nearly unstoppable force, going for well over 100 yards and tallying three touchdown on his way to earning MVP honors.
At 5-10, 205 pounds, Hurd has a powerful and compact frame that allows him to churn out tough yardage between the tackles. He also possesses surprising speed and agility in the open field, making him an overall tough guy to tackle for defenders.
“Honestly, just give me the ball,” Hurd commented when asked to describe his game. “I’m going to pop, pop, pop and eventually I’m going to break one out.”
Hurd has been hearing from Charleston Southern and Kennesaw State, but with his abilities with the football in his hands, there will undoubtedly be a multitude of schools flocking his way in the near future.
