Richmond Hill WR Justin Jeffery has decided to play college football for the Cincinnati Bearcats.
2018 WR Justin Jeffery, out of Richmond Hill High School, just recently announced his commitment to Cincinnati.
“I got a lot of love from a whole lot of schools,” Jeffery told the Southern Pigskin Radio Network, “but when I went up to Cincinnati, it just felt like home. Coach Geno gave me my first offer when he was at Central Michigan and then he went to Cincinnati they offered me and it was great.”
Jeffery’s commit came simultaneously alongside teammate Sam James’. James had the Bearcats in his top four as well, but opted for West Virginia.
“The thing that really sold Cincinnati to me was their business program,” Jeffery continued, “and the fact that there are Fortune 500 companies in the city, so hopefully I could intern with one of them.
Jeffery, who also plays defensive back for his high school, feels thta his time on defense will ultimately help him as a receiver.
On top that, this athlete’s attitude is that nothing is given, only earned, something he attributes to his head coach and high school program.
“I don’t expect anything. I want to earn a position. Maybe I can help out on special teams, but I don’t expect a team to say ‘hey, we recruitied this guy, let’s put him out there on day one.'”
When asked what Bearcat Nation was getting in a player like Justin Jeffery he simply said, “We’re going to win.”
Now that his commitment is out of the way, Jeffery is poised for another stellar season at Richmond Hill, before making his way to Cincy.
