Calvary Day athlete A.J. Keene verbally commits to Army.
Calvary Day (Savannah, GA) standout A.J. Keene has verbally committed to the U.S. Military Academy. He chose Army over multiple other offers.
Keene is a 5’8” athlete who has excelled on offense, defense and special teams for the Cavaliers. A dynamic playmaker, he has been a consistent lead for a team that has gone 23-2 in its last 25 games and played for Georgia’s 2013 class-A private school state championship. Throughout his career, Keene has shown an ability to play many different roles.
Per MaxPreps.com, Keene ran for 660 yards on 46 carries, an average of 14.3 yards per attempt, and rushed for seven touchdowns. He also recorded 50 tackles, three interceptions and five pass break-ups as a defensive back. He earned all-state honors and was named to the All-ESPNCoastal.com Team, recognizing players from southeast Georgia.
“He is a guy who can change a game in many ways. He has great speed and a nose for the football. He will be a great addition to Jeff Monken’s squad,” explained ESPN Coastal operations manager Kevin Thomas.
Most project Keene as a cornerback at the next level.
