Coach Bruce Fowler’s second class includes a record-setting LB (Cory Magwood), a shutdown DB (Reggie Thomas) and two quarterbacks to one day take over the reins of the squad (Resse Hannon and Terry Robinson).

Running back Brent O’Neal from Florida leads a class ripe with linebackers and offensive linemen that come from eight different states.
7. Western Carolina Catamounts

Three stars: 1

Considering how new coach Mark Spier had less time than the other coaches with this class, he did very well, bringing in numerous QB prospects and a “Barry Sanders-type of running back” in Darius Ramsey.
6. Chattanooga Mocs
Total: 15
Three stars: 1

The Mocs bring in eight all-state selections, headlined by WR Al Thompson, who had originally committed to Arizona State before a coaching change there opened the door for Chattanooga.
5. Wofford Terriers
Total: 16
Two stars: 3

Wofford went all over the country to get their recruits, going as far south as Florida and as far north as Minnesota. Their three two-star prospects – RB Treyous Jarrells, DT Tom Bove and LB Drake Michaelson – are the big rewards for the coaches’ hard work.
4. Samford Bulldogs
Total: 18
Three stars: 2
Two stars: 3

Pat Sullivan could not stop talking about how excited he was about this class. He has every right to be psyched about it, with signings like DL Brandon Teeling and Ben Tamburello.
3. Elon Phoenix
Total: 29
Three stars: 1
Two stars: 6

Coach Swepson did an excellent job in his first full recruiting season, filling holes at OL and RB and keeping OL Jacob Ingle, the highlight of this class, close to home.
2. Appalachian State Mountainteers
Total number of recruits: 19
Three star recruits: 2
Two star recruits: 6

Coach Jerry Moore called this recruiting class, “the best recruiting class in years, especially on defense.” DB Dante Blackmon out of Georgia leads this class as ASU looks to get back on top of the SoCon.
1. Georgia Southern Eagles
Total: 24
Three stars: 5
Two stars: 4
One star: 3
Far and away the best class in the SoCon. The Eagles lose QB Jaybo Shaw to graduation and replace him with three quarterback recruits, two of which are three-star prospects (Vegas Harley and Matt Dobson).
