Amari Cooper loves playing in the postseason and big games.
Alabama’s Amari Cooper was a Heisman Trophy finalist, won the Biletnikoff Award and holds the SEC’s single-season receptions record. Entering a College Football semifinal showdown with Ohio State, he might be playing his best football of the year. What’s more, Cooper loves playing in the postseason and big games.
The Miami-native has 25 catches in his last two games, 13 against Auburn and 12 versus Missouri. In those two games, the Crimson Tide scored of a total of 97 points. Cooper had a career game in the Iron Bowl: 224 yards and three touchdowns. That night he torched the Tigers for scores of 17, 39 and 75 yards.
In two career bowl games, Cooper has 15 receptions for 226 yards and two touchdowns. He caught six passes for 105 yards and both scores in a BCS National Championship Game triumph over Notre Dame his freshman year. Cooper then had nine grabs for 121 yards against Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl as a sophomore.
Cooper’s production in his last eight games against ranked opponents has been remarkable; 73 catches, 1,008 yards, eight touchdowns.
The unanimous All-American will have another showcase opportunity versus the Buckeyes.
