South Carolina’s upset win over Georgia helped change the bowl projections in the SEC.

Every week, in this column, I will be predicting the bowl location and opponent for each program in the SEC, ACC and Sun Belt Conference. A huge weekend of upsets and surprises across the college football landscape this past weekend has shuffled the bowl pecking order across the board.

THE SEC BOWL PICTURE:

South Carolina upending Georgia made a considerable impact to this weeks bowl projections. Otherwise, the biggest changes you will see this week are in the expected competition in these games.

College Football Playoff: 3 Auburn Vs. 2 Florida State, 1 Oregon Vs. 4 Oklahoma

Peach Bowl: Georgia Vs. Cincinnati

Orange Bowl: Alabama Vs. Clemson

Cotton Bowl: Texas A&M Vs. Baylor

Capital One Bowl: South Carolina Vs. Wisconsin

Outback Bowl: Florida Vs. Nebraska

Belk Bowl: Ole Miss Vs. Duke

Taxslayer Bowl: LSU Vs. Miami

Texas Bowl: Mississippi State Vs. Texas

Music City Bowl: Tennessee Vs. Penn State

Liberty Bowl: Missouri Vs. Kansas State

THE ACC BOWL PICTURE:

There were tons of big surprises in the ACC this past weekend. Boston College earned a big win over nationally-ranked USC, Virginia shocked Louisville, and East Carolina brought down Virginia Tech just a week after the Hokies defeated highly-regarded Ohio State. All of these outcomes altered the bowl outlook in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Russell Athletic Bowl: Virginia Tech Vs. Oklahoma State

New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Notre Dame Vs. Maryland

Military Bowl presented By Northrop Grumman: Virginia Vs. Memphis

Duck Commander Independence Bowl: North Carolina Vs. West Virginia

Detroit Bowl: Pittsburg Vs. Iowa

Bitcoin Bowl: Boston College Vs. UCF

Birmingham Bowl: Georgia Tech Vs. La. Monroe

THE SUN BELT BOWL PICTURE

Every team in the Sun Belt Conference, except for Appalachian State, played this past weekend and every team that played ended up losing (0 for 10). Many of them faced stiff competition this past Saturday and will bounce back in the coming weeks. Since everyone lost, it did little to change the bowl pecking order.

New Orleans Bowl: Arkansas State Vs. San Diego State

Camellia Bowl: La. Lafayette Vs. Toledo

GoDaddy Bowl: South Alabama Vs. Bowling Green

Birmingham Bowl: La. Monroe Vs. Georgia Tech

Expect plenty of drama around playoff and bowl selection time in this first year under a new system. Should be fun to see unfold. Check back each week to see where teams rise in fall in the bowl pecking order.
