The top performers from week seven in the Southern Conference.
nOffensive Player of the Week: Kaelan Riley, Mercer — Riley completed 20/27 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-10 win against Chattanooga.
nDefensive Player of the Week: John Brannon III, Western Carolina — Brannon made a pair of tackles and as many picks, including one that was returned for a touchdown, versus ETSU.
nSpecial Teams Player of the Week: Luke Carter, Wofford — Carter averaged 43.8 yards per punt, with two downed inside the 20-yard line, to help beat The Citadel.
nCoach of the Week: Mike Ayers, Wofford — Ayers’ Terriers stayed unbeaten, winning 20-16 at The Citadel, and further establishing themselves as the SoCon’s best team.
nX-Factor of the Week: Donnovan Spencer, Western Carolina — Spencer rushed 21 times for 139 yards and four touchdowns in a dominant 49-10 victory over ETSU.
