Looking ahead to week four in the SoCon.

nFurman looks to defeat their third FBS transition team in a row when the Paladins travel to Coastal Carolina Saturday.xc2xa0 Furman defeated FBS transition teams Appalachian State (27-10) and Georgia Southern (16-14) in 2013.xc2xa0 The Chanticleers hold a 6-1 series lead over the Paladins.xc2xa0 Furman’s six losses to Coastal Carolina have come by a total of 27 points and include a pair of overtime affairs.xc2xa0 The Chanticleers claimed the last encounter in Conway, 35-28, in 2013.

nEast Tennessee State has won three straight SOCON games dating back to 2003, the last year they played a conference schedule before suspending football until last year.xc2xa0 The Buccaneers hold the lead in the all-time series 13-11 but the Terriers have won five in a row including a 28-14 win in Spartanburg in 2003, the year in which Wofford was 12-2, SOCON Champs and an FCS Playoff Semi-Finalist.xc2xa0

nTwo of the four remaining undefeated teams in the SOCON square off in Finley Stadium Saturday afternoon.xc2xa0 Samford travels to Chattanooga in a battle to teams that were picked to finish in the top 3 by the leaguexe2x80x99s coaches.xc2xa0 The Mocs are giving up a stingy 4.6 points per game and have posted two shutouts so far in 2016.xc2xa0 Samford boasts the SOCONxe2x80x99s longest streak without being shutout at 169 games, a 29-0 loss to Tennessee Tech back in 2000.xc2xa0
