Eagle fullback Dominique Swope has been arrested and, for now, kicked off the football team.

nGeorgia Southern’s Dominique Swope has been arrested and charged with aggrevated battery and, per a statement from the school, has currently been kicked off the Eagle football team.

nA fullback from Buford, Georgia, Swope rushed for 1,033 yards and seven touchdowns in 2011 and 1,246 yards and 16 touchdowns and 2012 before being slowed by injuries last fall. He earned All-American honors following his sophomore year.

nxe2x80x9cDominique Swope was taken into custody in connection with an incident that occurred a couple of weeks ago. Coach Fritz and AD Tom Kleinlein met and after several conversations with law enforcement officials have decided that the best course of action is to remove Dominique from the team. His return to the team will be determined once he goes through the legal process and there is a better understanding of his involvement with this incident from a legal perspective.xe2x80x9d
