In a heralded wide receiver class, Jonathan Adams, Jr. is a player who has the attention of those at the next level.

Arkansas State star Jonathan Adams, Jr. was just one of the best players in all of college football. He ranked third nationally with 79 receptions, fifth with 1,111 yards and third with 12 touchdowns. It was a historic ten-game stretch for Adams, who became just the third Sun Belt player ever, immediately following former teammate Omar Bayless in 2019, with at least 1,100 receiving yards and a dozen scores in a single season.

Just as his father was heralded as a running back before him, Adams, Jr. promptly earned All-American honors and was named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year as a go-to playmaker for the Red Wolves.

In ten contests in 2020, Adams, quite remarkably, reached at least 95 yards receiving in eight of them. He had at least five catches in every game. This past season, Adams scored multiple times five different times.

A signature moment, for Adams, came in a spotlight performance, playing at Big XII foe Kansas State. With Arkansas State trailing the Wildcats by three points with just 38 seconds remaining, quarterback Layne Hatcher promptly found Adams for a game-winning 17-yard touchdown strike. It was a highlight-reel moment that gave the Red Wolves one of their biggest victories ever. It was also the third score of the game for Adams, one of the standouts of the young college football season.

From 2019-2020 at Arkansas State, Adams caught 141 passes for 1,962 yards and 17 touchdowns. The only other player with those minimums the past two years is Alabama’s DeVonta Smith.

At 6’2”, 220 pounds, Adams has notable size and athleticism to match his production. He is one of the top prospects from the Sun Belt in recent years and is projected to have his name called in the upcoming NFL Draft. Many pundits view him as a potential mid-round selection. Consistent and proven, Adams has a pro game on the perimeter and, for added value, even has experience playing special teams. He, fresh off a season for the ages, is an accomplished and exciting prospect.
