A number of elite prospects were in attendance to take in Georgia Southern’s annual spring game on Saturday afternoon.
The Georgia Southern Eagles competed in their annual Blue-White game this beautiful afternoon in Statesboro, Georgia. The rain held back, but the Eagles weren’t held back, as President Keel’s team took the 4-0 victory today. Coach Willie Fritz started the reigning Sun Belt champs off with several intense reps of every special teams. That was followed by 30 reps of full contact.
The Eagles were effective throwing the ball all over the field, producing multiple passing touchdowns. They were still, however, true to their scheme, also running several touchdowns in as well. Quarterbacks Kevin Ellison and Favian Upshaw effortlessly led the offense, with WR Monte Crockett torching the defense on a touchdown reception that was one of the highlights of the afternoon.
The defense was led by LB Antwione Williams. Williams made some spectacular reads, and is starting off his senior campaign very strong. The defensive line willingly took advantage of the inexperienced offensive line, but with time, comes experience. Look for the Eagles to make a commanding impression in the Sun Belt conference once again in 2015.
